Tournament Held August 15 – 17, 2008

 

The Eagle River Area Chamber of Commerce and Visitors Center along with the Musky Clubs Alliance of Wisconsin are proud to bring you the results of the 23rd Annual National Championship Musky Open. Each year The Eagle River Area Chamber of Commerce and Visitors Center and the Musky Clubs Alliance of Wisconsin host the largest amateur musky tournament in the United States on seven lake families in the Eagle River, WI area.  This tournament is a total catch and release tournament open to all ages and designed for great family fun. 

The National Championship Musky Open also hosted the fourth annual “Help Fight Hunger” program.  This program was created to help support the Vilas Food Pantry.  Each angler was asked to bring a non-perishable food item.  In return each angler received 1 chance at winning a Shimano rod and reel for their donation.  Thanks to this program the participants in the 2008 National Championship Musky Open again donated about 2200 pounds of non-perishable food items.

The 23rd Annual National Championship Musky Open was a great success and enjoyed by all. We would also like to thank all of our sponsors and the many volunteers who helped to make this tournament possible.  Mark your calendars for next year’s tournament – August 21-23, 2009   We hope you can join us.
