Aquatic Invasive Species Planning Partnership
The Eagle River Chamber of Commerce and the Musky Clubs Alliance are partnering to help with the threat of aquatic invasive species.  During the National Championship Musky Open, participants will be asked to take special precautions when moving between different lakes to help prevent the spread of aquatic invasive species.
One of the primary sources of spreading invasive species is boaters who unknowingly transport invisible early stage life forms of species such as Zebra Mussels, Spiny Water Fleas, and others from lakes that are already infested.  These hitchhikers are often too small to be seen by the human eye and can survive for long periods in damp areas such as live wells, bilge areas, and even anchor ropes and fishing gear.
Contestants will be provided with handout information prior to fishing the tournament and asked to take special precautions by following suggested guidelines indicated on the handout.  Please do your part to prevent the spread of Invasive Species.
